When planning this session I envisioned the summer evenings of my childhood when we would play in the streets with friends and cousins until the sun went down. I reached out to one of these childhood friends who is now a mama to two of the most amazing kiddos and asked if she’d be interested in doing a sunset skateboarding / play session and I was thrilled that she was up for it! In addition to her kids, she invited her niece and these three are clearly thick as thieves! I absolutely love all of the joyful moments we captured, but my favorite is the image where one of the girls is tending to a cut on her knee and the other has her hand on her back. I actually had removed it in my editing first pass as it’s not as fun as the others, but something about it caught my eye the second time through. The gesture and their body language is so natural, without much fuss, but so tender and caring. I think you can see just how close they are and how much they love one another.
